Crowdsourcing powwa

Monday, May 19th, 2008

I’ve marketed quite a lot through Stumbleupon (crowdsourcing service), usually I’ve pulled quite constant traffic of 2-3 thousand visitors per day and campaign (for both paid and unpaid campaigns).

Now it happened unintentionally with this product:

Well over 25 000 visitors from Stumbleupon and Reddit over the span of 36 hours, I was quite surprised.

Granted the kind of product above does not really sell however the spillover to other products was quite good.

Bytelove up for real

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

Finally Bytelove is up for real, feuturing clothes and accessories for WoW fans, Gamers and Geeks. We are also the official reseller for the Kopimi shirts from thepiratebay.org

Funniest thing about the site at the moment is our new bamboo t-shirts, yeap the premium t-shirts are made of bamboo cellulose. Being able to make a shirt out of bamboo was actually enough to make me purchase them, seriously much more fun to market. The fact that they have a good iso marking for being both environmentally friendly and produced under humane conditions doesn’t make it worse. thumb_premium-logo

Currently the shop is working fine and I think we have a nice design, in terms of functions there’s much to be done:

  • Complete redo of the checkout
  • Implementing DE, FR and NO version
  • Local payment options e.g. lastscrift (DE) and fakturabetalning (SE)
  • Language specific URLs (though :( )

Plus lots of more things.

Download.com for sweden

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

Christian Rudolf at Disruptive launched his new project mjukvara, the aim is to become somewhat of a swedish equivalent to download.com. As I understand it they are gonna rely on a lot of editorial material regarding the quality and reliability of different antivirus and spyware softwares among others.

Mjukvara is sort of a seo pot, I’m not sure its easy to catch returning visitors for this kind of site however the quality traffic coming from google should be enough to make some money … guessing some eCPM rates of around EUR5-10 for the google traffic :).

Tore who previously ran Polyshop, one of two real competitors when I was working with Spreadshirt in Sweden has started a quite entertaining blog at: http://www.torefriskopp.se/ (in Swedish).
